We have a sliding glass door between our livingroom and sunroom. (The door is actually an outside door with a metal frame because the sunroom was added on to the house at a later date.) We want to transform the sunroom into a bird room with free flying finches. Therefore we need to replace the glass in the sliding door with coated or steel wire mesh, with openings not wider than 1/4". (A normal screen door wouldn't work, because the finches can get caught in the small holes of a screen with their nails.) The mesh could have either 1/4" by 1/4" openings, or the openings could be 1/4" wide but longer like in regular bird cages. The existing door can be used and the glass replaced, or, if that's not possible, a new sliding door be put in. (We'd like to keep the frame of the door though, we don't want any re-construction of the door that requires repainting of the surrounding wall etc.) | ||
